ACCESS TO INFORMATION

Access to information is protected by Section 32 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996 (Act No. 108 of 1996). To give effect to this right, the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (Act No. 2 of 2000) (Act) has been put into effect by official proclamation. The PAIA protects and upholds the rights of people to access information.

The Human Rights Commission has developed a guide on how to exercise any right contemplated in the Act as required by Section 10 of the Act. In response to Section 14 of the Act the Competition Tribunal has compiled a manual containing the information prescribed by Section 14.

The purpose of this manual is to

  1. provide information on the records held by the Competition Tribunal, and
  2. set out the procedure for accessing information held by the Competition Tribunal as required by the Act.

Please click to download the manual in your preferred language.
